what does the equation
ax2 + 2hxy + by2 + 2gx + 2fy + c = 0
when (that matrix) i.e
abc + 2fgh - af2 - bg2 - ch2 IS NOT 0
represent ??

i agree with bhuvana,but a small ,necessaryimprovement is g2 +f2-c>0 i mean radius should be greater than equal to zero i think u now understand the mess if the above condition wasnt given,it would havent been a circle

yeah if the determinant is just not zero it is just a curve for more informatoin refer text buk of analyticalgeometry by pillay, page373
