British Council has announced the Young Creative Entrepreneur 2011 Awards for those who have made significant contribution to fashion, design, screen, interactive and performing arts and publishing sector. Indian entrepreneurs belonging to the age group of 21-40 years with at least two to three years of experience are eligible to apply for the same.
The winners will leave the country for a study tour of their respective industry to UK. They will get to interact with industry leaders in the UK and attend a relevant trade event that will help widen their perspective.
The UK tour this year is set to coincide with prestigious events such as the Edinburgh Festival, London Book Fair, London Film Festival, London Design Festival, Power to Pixel and the London Fashion Week. The British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur programme (YCE) has been on since 2005 that focuses on young and creative entrepreneurs. Last year, the programme included its own award ceremony for the first time announcing India’s brightest emerging entrepreneurs in seven different sectors. Notable among the outcomes were the inclusion of YCE Publishing Leonard Fernandes at a panel at the London Book Fair and the showcasing of YCE Fashion Sanjay Garg at a cultural festival at the Southbank Centre, London.
The YCE Interactive Anup Tapadia won the International YCE title and is back in the UK this month to explore collaborative opportunities.
