The fashion week in Karachi came to an end pretty much like a fashion week in Delhi would – with entertaining shows and lots of drama.

On the concluding day of the Style360 Bridal Couture Week in Karachi, organized in association with J&S, one designer had fireworks on the ramp and a music troupe, and even one of the models performed.

The week ended with Karachi's home-grown Deepak Perwani. Deepak, one of the better known designers in Pakistan, showcased his latest bridal collection. His show was followed by that of Reem Abbasi, an Islamabad-based jewellery designer who makes both modern, high fashion jewellery and intricate, traditional pieces.

Marking the end of this first segment was Shaiyanne Malik, who launched her fashion label over twenty years ago and soon became well known, particularly for her bridal couture.

Segment 2 of the last day was opened by Lahore-based designers Sundas and Faraz Manan. Inspired by their mother and designer Memoona Manan, the brother and sister duo is working on couture and bridalwear, and have designed couture for Victoria Beckham as well as the Saudi Royal Family. Next up was Saba Waseem, whose bridal collection was inspired by rich eastern culture, and inscribed into contemporary designs.

The evening wound up with the finale by Lahore-based designer Mehdi. This was the show that had fireworks on the ramp, and the week's last bow was taken, fittingly, in great style. The entertainment quotient on all three days event was provided by Hasan Rizvi's troupe BodyBeat which performed between shows, and brought the house down with their lively mehndi dances, apt at a bridalwear week. Model Rubya Chaudhry also performed between shows to Rizvi's choreography.
