British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead at his home in Green Street here Thursday. He was 40.

"McQueen was found dead this morning (Thursday) at his home," the Telegraph reported on its website quoting his spokesman as saying.

"We are devastated and I hope you understand that out of respect to his family and his colleagues we are not going to be making any further statement," he added.

"A postmortem will take place in due course. The death is being treated as non-suspicious," said a police spokesperson.

McQueen's designs have been worn by celebrities like Rihanna and Lady GaGa.
