National Institute of Design (NID) will be providing various short duration workshops in May. They are meant for people looking forward to honing their design skills during the summer break.
The workshops will be conducted in eight different areas, including calligraphy writing, illustrating fashion figures, ceramics, paper craft, block making and block printing with natural colours, toy, animation and web design. To be held between May 16 and 27, each workshop will be four days long.
Talking about the interesting aspects of the workshop this year, project officer at industry programmes and projects in NID, Mansukh Patel, said, "Japanese pottery using raku technique and toy design have been introduced this year. A visiting faculty at NID, Cindy Gould from the US, will be visiting the institute to conduct the toy design workshop. The workshops will be serious and career oriented, with the motive of introducing design perspectives to the participant."
While block making and block printing have been done earlier as well, it will be for the first time that they will be conducted using natural colours. "The details of the workshops are available on the institute's website," said Patel.
