The story of how Rohan was always stamped as a fail-ure as he hopped from school to school is not only captivating but thought provoking as well.
Rohan is the protagonist of a novel writ-ten by a student of National Institute of Design (NID). A student of photography design, Ravikiran Rangaswamy released his semi-autobiographical fiction novel called '46+14=06, A story of a genius' on Saturday.
This is the novel to be written and published by any student of NID. While a formal launch of the book is yet to be held, the first print of 1,000 copies was sold out in a single day af-ter it was made available in leading book stalls in the market.
The 25-year-old student from Vadodara said, "The first edition of the books is already sold out and we are going for a reprint." With various plots of the story set in NID, and illustrations and art-work by the author and other students, the novel talks about life on the campus of country's premier design institute and also reflects some of the skills of the institute's students.
Rangaswamy began writing the novel six years ago when he was studying in Loyola College in Chennai and continued working on it after he joined NID. Thus the novel includes various plots based on his experiences in both institutes.
Appreciating his experiences at top design school Rangaswamy said, "NID has changed me a lot and my association with it has helped me in completing the novel. Apart from discussions about the novel with my friends in the institute, they have also contributed various illustrations which are published in the novel."
Talking about his mother Sapna Rangaswamy who has co-authored the novel, the NIDian said, "She is my best friend."
