Glitz, glamour and glitteratti came together on Saturday at the second season of Gitanjali lifestyle Kolkata couture lifestyle and fashion week. The show on the second day was kickstarted with the presentation of Pradeep Agarwal's tone embroideries inspired from gates of tombs and forts. The collection in all white added class to the line.
Glamosphere by Sulakshana Monga followed and was a welcome presentation with western elements but with a slight degree of difference in tonal gradation and feeling. The collection highlighted silhouettes woven with momentary and short lived characters from day to day life. Geisa designs by Paras and Shalini arrested the terrain and contours of the earth's landscape.
However, the star attraction of the evening was Bollywood actor Raima Sen who launched the Great Indian Wedding Carnival. Called Rudali ke Raat, the ensemble by Rohit Verma brought to life the festive fervour of an Indian wedding at the event. The exquisite diamond jewellery and outfits in French lace and diamond work with beads added glamour to the outfits. From Saris to Anarkalis and corsets, the ramp was on fire with city models sashaying down in creations of exclusive designs, aptly highlighted by jewellery fitting all occasions.
