Day 3 of the recently concluded fashion week in the city came to an end with a bang with designer Swapnil Shinde's Spring/Summer 2012 collection titled Speed.

The collection, presented by Gitanjali, was inspired by the speed of sound - more specifically, the ripple effect created by sound waves. The colour palette, which included ivory, jet black, warm grey, nude and a shock of yellow, was in a range of silhouettes - from tops and short dresses, to evening gowns and jackets. And since the 80s seems to be the biggest buzzword in fashion, there were lots of shoulder pads, boxy trousers, boleros and Madonnainspired PVC outfits on show. The piece de resistance, however, was when Swapnil walked the ramp (after showstopper VJ Mia), toting a backpack and wearing superripped jeans!
