School of Fashion Technology was established in 1988 by Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS) in association with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), (Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India) with an aim to identify ambitious women with professional, managerial, technical and entrepreneurial aspirations, talents and willpower and prompt them off to grow to be exceptional and inspiring leaders in the fashion industry in India to meet the confrontations of industrial competitiveness on a global plane.
