Moving ahead on the main road, we come across the synergie building on the left, which has a restaurant Sip-n-Bite (aka Sippy) providing a good alternative in case you are tired of the hostel food or don't have time to walk all the way back to yours. On the right side of the main road, you have the Bharti Building (Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management), which in short houses the Computer Science Department (and a very small part of the electrical department).
Strolling along the main road further, you can see three huge fields in a row- for hockey,cricket and football in that order.Also there are basketball courts, volleyball courts, athletics tracks and a pavilion in this complex. Moreover the entire complex has a 1.2 km running track all around it.
Parallel to these across the road, is the hospital and the sick-bay. Moving on you reach the juice shop in the area called mini campus. Students are seen here in large numbers as they return from the 'insti' after classes. The mini campus has some more staff residences.
Right after this is the boy's hostel area - with the 9 boys' hostels facing each other - Zanskar, Shivalik (Shiva), Satpura, Vindhyachal (Vindy), Kumaon, Jwalamukhi (Jwala), Aravali (Ara), Karakoram (Kara) and Nilgiri (Nil) in that order and lawn tennis courts & volleyball courts in the middle along with tennis practice wall and Nalanda Grounds.
Also present are two major food joints - another Neski outlet and the Uth Cafe, where you can try Slice of Italy's Pizzas, one of the combos of FastTraX (FX) or just cool yourself off with some Amul products. Birthday-bumps, hostel victory celebrations, couples pretending to study together, are like the common findings here.
Right next to the boys' hostels is the Student Activity Centre (SAC),where you can find the music club room, where the bands of IIT Delhi can be seen practicing, the quizzing club room which organizes open quizees weekly, the robotics club,where you can see the robots for Tech Fests in development, the indoor sports club (ISC) rooms having pool/ snooker/ billiards/ table tennis tables. Also present is a multi-gym, badminton courts and squash courts, followed by the swimming pool.
Also, the huge Open Air Theatre (OAT) used for hosting the major cultural fest events like rock show / pronite/ group dance competitions is present in the SAC area. Beyond this area are the staff residences.
On the girls' hostel side, apart from Himadri and Kailash,there is the Director's Lodge, residences for professors and other staff, a school, a ladies club and a small shopping complex with a post office. There is also a much sought after Mother Dairy which is almost always thronged by students. This pretty much rounds us up with the walk around the campus of IIT Delhi.
