For Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD)
Admission is open to students who have passed or are appearing for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents such as AISSCE/IB/ICSE etc. All those students who pass the institute’s admission test/interview will be admitted, subject to passing their qualifying examinations before they join the institute. Competence in technical and related subjects will be considered an advantage and the medium of instruction for UG programme is English. The upper age limit for candidates is 20 years which is relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories.

For Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD)
Candidate who have bachelors degree or equivalent are eligible to apply. Those applying for more than one programme need to send separate application forms. One cannot apply for more than two programmes and the medium of instruction for PG programme at NID is English. Upper age limit for candidates is 27 years and those with experience are preferred.
