The class was fun and a great workout! The gym is pretty no frills, and you spend about half of the class doing an intense cardio workout and the rest practicing boxing with partners that you rotate with.
This was my first time ever boxing so I was a little nervous! However, as soon as I got there Megan (the instructor) welcomed me and assisted me in preparing for the class. Being the only new person there, among several “regulars”, they all made me feel very welcomed, encouraging and teaching me throughout way. Thank you!!

Class was great! I've never been to a proper boxing class before, and wasn't sure what to expect. But everyone was friendly and helpful - from helping me wrap my hands with hand wraps to working through the boxing routines. Definitely reccomend!
My first time was great! John and Samantha made sure I was comfortable and guided me along the way. We definitely worked up a sweat with a good cardio/boxing mix!
It was a fun class and i was happy to have the opportunity to go!

I've never been to a boxing class before, so I'll admit I was a bit nervous going into it. And while the boxing techniques class was a tough, fast-paced class for a newbie like me, I never felt bad at any point for taking time to rest or to figure out the correct form. I would absolutely go back and take another class!

I had so much fun on my first visit. I was really nervous as it was my first time ever boxing but I really felt empowered and like the instructor was there to guide the newbies through. Great workout as well, great music. Definitely will be going back!!

Super fun and a great workout. I was sweating within 5 minutes. The owner was great and helped me get situated and showed me how to wrap my hands. I will definitely be returning.

Backbay Boxing is an excellent place to start learning the basic boxing skills and technique. Great kick-ass workout is an added bonus!

Very personal training and the instructor really cares that you learn. Also getting three classes through nift is a deal!
It was a great workout! Wow, my arms are sore. We started with a bunch of boot camp like cardio, then the rest of the time was spent practicing punches. John threw the new people in with the regulars and though it was a steep learning curve, we felt like we were well integrated into the class. You need to either bring or buy your own hand wraps, and you can borrow gloves and pads. The regulars were patience and welcoming to us newbies. Not a huge studio, but in a good location for city folks.
It’s definitely a hard workout but it was a great way to get introduced to boxing!

This was a super generous nift - three free classes! I really enjoyed the workout, and the focus on boxing technique and form was really great. They were welcoming to beginners and I plan on continuing to take classes there after my three class trial.

An amazing experience! Trainer was very approachable and learned everyone's name very quickly, making the group class a somehow personalized experience. Will definitely go again!

Wonder coach! Definitely the real deal in terms of the actual class. Changing room is small and claustrophobic with the whole class trying to get in at the end, and ventilation could be improved. But all in all, I would definitely go back! :)

Back Bay Boxing was great! The guy in charge was very nice and helpful to a newbie, as were all others in the class. Highly recommend.
My first free class is on froday and I’m looking forward to it
Classes small enough where you feel you are getting attention and a challenging work out. Instructor is friendly and welcoming to newcomers and those with previous experience. Only issue is a lack of locker rooms.
