Since 2011, The Rhode Island Seafood Festival has brought together the freshest seafood, live music and family friendly activities for locals and visitors to enjoy. Held on the weekend after Labor Day, this annual event features a multitude of restaurant and food truck vendors from the greater Providence, RI area. This past Saturday, the Nift team headed down to Rhode Island to experience the festival for ourselves. Lucky for us, we got to check out the delicious fare from the food trucks. Below are a few of our favorites that we enjoyed at the festival:

 

The Shuck Truck Working with many local fisherman, this food truck offers fantastic fresh seafood options including small necks, oysters and jumbo shrimp. Every item on their menu is inspired by cuisines from around the world, creating something for every customer. Festival-goers were quick to become fond of this Providence, RI food truck- the line never disappeared. Wild Bills Soda Using only the finest ingredients and pure cane sugar, Wild Bills Soda offers soda the old-fashioned way- from a tap straight to your mug. At the festival, we bought mugs and got to enjoy all sorts of flavors that were available such as “Vintage Vanilla Cream” and “Rocky Mountain Root Beer.” Unlimited refills during the day made it hard to resist trying every flavor. www.wildbillssoda.com/index.aspx

 

Red’s Street Kitchen This food truck’s philosophy largely supports the farm-to-table movement by only producing locally sourced dishes sans processed ingredients. Their awesome selection of street food is mainly inspired by European and Pan-Mediterranean cuisines. We decided to try their California Crab Roll, and to say the least, it did not disappoint. redsri.com/
