42nd Annual 15k Run Around the Block Challenge yourself to a 15K run! This charity run happening on September 9th, is a great way for you to get a work out in while simultaneously helping a charity. The proceeds of this event will benefit the Michael & Daniel Batchelder Memorial Scholarship Fund. International Coastal Cleanup Day The International Coastal Cleanup Day is the world’s largest volunteer effort to help clean our oceans. This is a day where people around the world clean by the shores and document their findings. These findings are published in an annual report on marine debris by the Ocean Conservancy. Wine and Food Festival The Wine and Food Festival in Rhode Island is known to be one of the best in the country. This two-day festival features a grand tasting with hundreds of wines under big tents on the lawn of Marble House. 30th-Annual-Apple-Festival The Apple Festival draws over 5,000 people, filling Johnston Memorial Park with music, laughter and the aroma of apple pies and great food. The festival is kid friendly and there are lots to do for everybody. Nasty Woman Art Boston Nasty Woman Art Boston is the sister exhibition of the original location in New York City. The art show is one of many national and international exhibitions organized around the demonstration of solidarity among female artists and allies who identify with being “Nasty Women.” The art show serves as a way to raise awareness about women’s rights, civil rights, abortion rights, immigration rights, LGBTQ rights and environmental justice. Breakthrough Bash The Annual Breakthrough Bash at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is on September 23rd. Located in the South End, the venue is a charming one-third scale replica of Boston’s Symphony Hall and will boast a live DJ and multiple open bars. Free Outdoor Pops Concert Fireworks with the Melrose Symphony Located at the Morelli Baseball Field, the Melrose Symphony puts on a free concert for thousands of audience members. The MSO will perform crowd favorites with music from Star Wars, Star Trek, and many other notable tunes.
