Based in Waltham, Massachusetts, B-Lush Spa recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. Founder Arlene Maserejian won the Back Bay Best Makeup Artist award in 2008, and B-Lush placed second for Best Facials on Boston CityVoter 2017. The day spa offers makeup services, facials, massages, laser hair removal, eyelash extensions, and other treatments. Although she has worked in spas since 2004, B-Lush is the first time Maserejian has run her own business.


Maserejian and her technicians service about 400 clients per month. While some frequent the spa once a month or more, others pop in less frequently. In its first year, B-Lush has been a success, but Maserejian is still looking to reach new potential clients. Her business relies heavily on repeat customers, so reaching locals is essential.


"I have done Facebook Ads, which have not worked well," Maserejian says. "They do these posts three or four times a week. They say they're supposed to get the locals in your area, but it did not do anything for me. There was no return on the investment." Then, Maserejian became aware of Nift.

Once a client or customer receives a Nift, the recipient enters the unique gift code online, specifies their preferences and has a chance to redeem one of two offers. Someone might receive a Nift from their favorite restaurant or gym, for example. When this person redeems the card, if they also express an interest in beauty and wellness, he or she could be offered a service from B-Lush.
