Finance Team
Nift is disrupting performance marketing, delivering millions of new customers to brands every month and we are actively looking for an accountant to join our team. This role will be critical to the success of Nift.
The role:
Our finance team, although small in number, impacts every aspect of our business. We look for people who are detail-oriented, subject matter experts, have a passion for accuracy, and are time-sensitive. Naturally curious, flexible in their approach to problem-solving, and diligent. Nift is a small, cash-flow-positive, rapidly growing company. We have plans to expand our company across all departments in 2023 significantly and this role will contribute significantly to the success of that expansion. This position reports to our VP of Finance, who reports to our CEO. In this role you will interface with the entire management team, to inform and make key business decisions that will directly impact our revenue growth. What you will do:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Prepare, review, and analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, monthly and quarterly, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Perform financial statement analysis to understand and communicate trends in financial metrics and any variances to plan
- Develop a full set of accounting policies and procedures, and make recommendations for improving current accounting systems and practices
- Support the annual financial statement audit by coordinating efforts of and providing requested support to external auditors
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
What You Need:
- 3+ years of accounting experience post-college
- A BS in accounting or equivalent
- Experience with A/P, A/R, monthly/quarterly closes, revenue recognition, account analysis/reconciliation, expense management, and previous support of financial statement audits
- Good work ethic, willingness to wear multiple hats, do what it takes, determination, grit, drive, a sense of humor, self-motivation, and optimism.
- An ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Previously worked for a small company is preferred
- SQL experience preferred
